🍰 A Sweet Escape: My Love for Tiramisu

When I think of Italian desserts, Tiramisu is the first thing that comes to mind. It’s not just coffee, mascarpone, and cocoa—it’s a layered story of elegance and comfort that has traveled from the cafĂ©s of Venice to countless tables around the world… and now, to your next event.

I remember my first bite of Tiramisu in a tiny Venetian café. The espresso was bold, the mascarpone was impossibly silky, and the dusting of cocoa on top sealed the deal. It wasn’t just dessert—it was an experience, and that’s exactly what I love recreating for our guests at Bread Crumbs Catering.


🍴 My Event-Worthy Tiramisu Recipe

Serves: 12

Ingredients:

  • 6 large egg yolks

  • Âľ cup sugar

  • 2 cups mascarpone cheese

  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream

  • 2 cups strong espresso (cooled)

  • 3 tbsp coffee liqueur (optional)

  • 2 packs ladyfinger cookies

  • Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting

Steps:

  1. Whisk the yolks and sugar until pale and creamy.

  2. Fold in mascarpone gently until smooth.

  3. Whip the cream to soft peaks, then fold it into the mascarpone mixture.

  4. Dip ladyfingers quickly in espresso (and liqueur if you like) and layer them in a dish.

  5. Spread the mascarpone mixture over the cookies. Repeat for a second layer.

  6. Chill for at least 4 hours.

  7. Dust with cocoa just before serving.
