Easter Cinnamon Buns

Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¾ cup milk

  • 4 tablespoons melted butter (plus more for brushing)

For the filling:

  • 4 tablespoons soft butter

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

For the glaze (optional but yum):

  • ½ cup powdered sugar

  • 1–2 tablespoons milk or cream

  • A drop of vanilla (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Mix dry dough ingredients (flour, sugar, baking powder, salt) in a bowl.

  3. Add milk and melted butter to the bowl and stir it together until it forms a dough. Don’t overmix—just until it comes together.

  4. Roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about ¼ inch thick).

  5. Spread soft butter over the dough, then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly.

  6. Roll it up from the long side like a log. Slice into about 8 pieces.

  7. Place buns in a greased baking dish (they can be touching). Brush the tops with a bit more melted butter.

  8. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden on top.

  9. Drizzle with glaze after they cool for a few minutes.
